Application Fee
$60.
Audition Information
If you are new to playing an instrument, you will be automatically enrolled in Level I courses without a placement audition.
If you have previous experience studying music, we ask that you take a placement audition to determine where you are in the SFIM curriculum. All auditioning students should prepare a 5-10 minute solo piece (or segment of a solo piece). The audition may also include sight-reading and scales depending on the student’s abilities and level of comfort. Please contact the office to schedule an appointment for your audition.
Tuition
- Academic classes: $250 per semester (16 weeks)
- Ensemble classes: $250 per semester
- Private lessons: $1400 per semester

Scholarships are available to all qualifying candidates. A printable

Due Dates
Except as stated below, students must pay tuition and fees at the time of registration. Students unable to do so may choose a deferred payment plan.
Withdrawals
If a student must withdraw after payment of tuition and fees, the school will retain 10 percent of the tuition fee for each week or part thereof, up to and including the sixth week. There will be no refunds for withdrawals after the sixth week. The date of the withdrawal will be the date on which the SFIM is notified in writing. Application and registration fees are not refundable.
